In the late 1930s, a group of “northenders” gathered to protest a surcharge on their telephone bills and the Heineberg Community Club had its beginning. In 1941 the present building was erected by community members, volunteering their time and skills.
Originally the building was used as a meeting place for local organizations and community events. Their mission “to promote the common welfare and civic betterment of the community...and to engage in social and education activities for the benefit of said community” continues today as the Heineberg Community & Senior Center.
